Anyone coming to the center should feel comfortable whatever their beliefs and culture. We encourage active exchange of ideas and conversation. Proselytizing has no place in the connections made at the center.
CMLC’s Annual Summer Bazaar
We need a lot of volunteers to help set up, be a cashier, work at the snack table and pack up. Please e-mail us or stop by the center to volunteer. If you are a local, international artisan or baker who would like to sell your crafts or yummy baked treats at he bazaar, please contact us.

English Language Conversant This language exchange program is one of the cornerstones of the center and is always very popular. Typically partners meet one hour per week. Volunteers may choose their hours depending on their and their partner’s schedules. A good command of English and an ability to be comfortable working with people from other cultures required.
CMLC Staff – General staff are needed by CMLC to keep the center operational, running smoothly and most importantly to ensure that visitors feel welcome and comfortable.
• Greeting Visitors
• Offering tours of the Center
• Answering the phone and taking messages
• Keeping the center tidy, well maintained and comfortable
• Conversing with visitors
• Recording and providing receipts for donations
• Recording use of the Center – number of people and how they are using the Center
• Opening and closing the Center when applicable
• Helping with special projects as needed
For staff positions we are seeking a commitment of at least 2 hours per week for 3-4 months or more.
The center will, from time to time, need volunteers for a variety of reasons whether it is a maintenance issue, technical support, a special event, inventorying, or general center beautification. For these volunteer positions, we would e-mail or call as the need arises. If you do the work from home (i.e. technical support), you would still be logging volunteer hours.
