Are you getting ready to take the citizenship exam? Could
you use some help in studying or practicing English? CMLC has trained
volunteers and materials for tutoring, instruction, and practice.

Multiracial Families Discussion GroupAddressing the issues such as racial identity development, racism and its impact on biracial children and multiracial families, ways parents can help their children develop a healthy racial identity. The facilitator is Luis Rosa, licensed clinical counselor and director of the health and counseling center at Western Oregon University. He specializes in counseling interracial couples, multiracial families and individuals with biracial identity. Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center, 128 SW Ninth Street, Corvallis. Contact CMLC for more information: 754-7225. cmlc@peak.org School Programs Throughout the school year, the center facilitates programs for school groups appropriate to grade-level and interest. Educators are encouraged to contact the center to schedule activities and field trips. Language Learning Opportunities The center provides connection for people wanting to share or learn another language. Examples are individual tutoring, language exchange (e.g. Spanish-English, Chinese-English, etc.), conversation groups, and discussion groups. Quilting Class A group of local quilters are planning a quilting class for speakers of other languages. Please let us know if you'd like to be on the contact/mailing list.

Textile Celebration and Handicraft Skill Exchange Meet others from many countries who enjoy knitting, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitching, quilting, and other handwork.
